All prices in USD for a one-year term, as published by each registrar. Registry and ICANN fees are included where the registrar includes them; taxes are not. Confirm at checkout before buying.
Save $14.12 over five years by not staying put.
The cheapest single registrar for five years is GKG at $71.50. Splitting the name across two registrars costs $57.38 — 20% less:
- Register at Unstoppable for the first year.
- Transfer to GKG before it renews. An inbound transfer adds a year, so this covers year two.
- Renew at GKG for years three to five.
Registries require a name to be 60 days old before it can transfer, so plan the move for renewal time rather than straight after registering.

.pro frequently asked questions
01How much does a .pro domain cost?
The cheapest first year we found is $0.18 at Unstoppable. Renewal matters more: the cheapest renewal is $14.30 at GKG, so five years costs $57.38.
02Why is .pro renewal so much more than the first year?
The first year is a promotional price. Renewal runs 7844% higher, which is the price you pay every year after. Registrars advertise the first number.
03What is the cheapest way to hold a .pro for five years?
Register at Unstoppable, then transfer to GKG before the first renewal — an inbound transfer adds a year. That costs $57.38 against $71.50 at the cheapest single registrar, saving $14.12.
04Who runs the .pro registry?
Identity Digital Domains Limited. Registrars sell .pro names on the registry's behalf; the registry sets the wholesale price.
05Are there restrictions on registering .pro?
none currently — originally restricted to licensed professionals in the 2002 round, later opened to general registration.
